Dock Connector

I have a Tevion, hifi to play my ipad through, it's connected to speakers in my ceiling and a sub in my wardrobe but somehow the IPad Dock connect on it has been damaged on the side, I don't know how this has happened but it just looks like a plastic rod that holds it stiff has broken off, there doesn't *appear* to be any damage to the actual metal connectors, but if I try to play music it only goes through one speaker, I have swapped over the speaker wires and that speaker changed.

So it is definitely the dock connector that has broken, I am wondering if there is any easy way to fix this. Because it seems a bit stupid to replace the whole thing when there's a tiny bit wrong, but it is very annoying because I can either have my ipad charging and playing through one speaker or not charging and playing through an auxiliary cable and not as good quality sound.
